Abdur Rahim Green
Formerly Anthony Green, born 1962 or 1964, is a British convert to Islam and Islamic lecturer.
Abdul Raheem Green was born to British parents in Darussalam in Tanzania in 1964. His father Gavin Green was a colonial administrator in the still existent British Empire. He later joined Barclays Bank in 1976 and was sent to Egypt to set up Egyptian Barclays Bank. He was educated at famous Roman Catholic Monastic School called Ampleforth College and went on to study history in the London University. However, he left his education unfinished.
Currently, he is working with an Islamic media company based in England and engages himself in dawah activities including lectures on Islam in London's famous Hyde Park. His study of the Qur'an immediately attracted him to Islam leading to his conversion in 1988. He has given Da'wah in Britain since then.
Green now works in the London Central Mosque and Islamic Cultural Centre as the Visits and English Dawa Co-ordinator.

SISTER YVONNE RIDLEY, Award Winning Journalist.
Yvonne Ridley was born 1964, Stanley, County Durham, England and is a British journalist and Respect Party politician best known for her capture by the Taliban and subsequent conversion to Islam.
British-born, award-winning journalist Yvonne Ridley is well known in the Muslim world for her outspoken views and defence of Islam. She endeared herself to the Muslim community in Britain when she reverted to Islam 30 months after making international headlines when she was captured by the Taliban on an undercover assignment in Afghanistan. She was a senior reporter of the Sunday Express at the time, having spent nearly 10 years in Fleet Street working for several prestige titles including The Sunday Times, The Observer, Daily Mirror and Independent on Sunday.
Ridley came to prominence in September 2001 when she was captured by the Taliban in Afganistan whilst working for the Sunday Express. Repeatedly refused an entrance visa, she decided to follow the example of BBC reporter John Simpson, who had crossed the border anonymously in a burqa. When she was discovered without passport or visa, she was held by the authorities for 11 days. One of her captors asked her to convert; she refused, but gave her word she would read the Qur'an after her release.
In the Hands of the Taliban: Her Extraordinary Story, was rushed out for Christmas sales, hitting the shelves less than three months after the planes hit the Twin Towers.
In 2003 saw Yvonne Ridley employed by the Qatar-based media organization Al Jazeera, where, as a senior editor, she helped launch the English Langauge version of their website. She began presenting The Agenda, the Islam Channel's politics and current affairs show, in October 2005. Ridley now works for Press TV, the Iranian English language 24-hour news channel. She also writes a column for the New York-based Daily Muslims and other publications.
